While I have invested in traditional enterprises, real estate, food industry, education, I am currently heavily invested in unique and innovative technologies and related solutions for the Direct Marketing and Internet Advertising Industries. As such, I have a company that is bringing a new form of web based tools to this space based on the enhancement of understanding communications preferences of customers. This started out as an educational application. I am looking to invest in companies that have complimentary value to the advertising and marketing industry. I am also keeping my ears attuned to the education and online learning space, as that has always been of great interest to me. My occupational background is in the area of private career education which was the launching pad for these new ideas. After successfully using these training applications with GE Medical Systems I decided to become an entrepreneur, and started investing.

57, married, Rockledge, FL. While in grad school I was involved with SBIR projects. I joined a biosensor startup, ultimately sold them as a viscosity sensor company, and began working in wireless sensors. My partner and I were the first company to repay Maine Technology Institute's seed loans. I am now VP of R&D of a technology company serving the electric power industry and I havea senior engineering role to a startup company in which I am invested. I am making small seed investments from a self-directed IRA and I am interested in startups that I can help in some way, but I am not adverse to silent investment for the right deal. I have a 5 to 15 year perspective because of this, but quicker turnover is great. Investments to date are Helios Hockey, Insurgical, Knightscope, Liquid Piston, and Bonsi.

I'm 38 years old, Single, located in Palm Harbor Florida. I'm a District Chief for a local fire department for the last 15 years. My highest level of education is a Master's degree in Public Administration. Having led crews on the fireground and managed diverse personnel at the fire station, I've developed leadership skills, training skills, and conflict resolution skills. I've helped develop all sorts of programs for our department and oversaw the logistics and finances associated with those programs. The vast majority of my informal education has been around leadership and developing/mentoring people. Mission First/People Always. I'm looking to move my skills into the private sector as an individual investor. I believe the type of investment will dictate the level of involvement I'd have, so I'm open to silent, advisory, and hands-on involvement.
